I have been painting for over forty years and the majority of my recent work have been in oils , and pastels , although I spent many years painting watercolours , in my opinion the most difficult medium to master.
The majority of my work is either painted on site or developed from sketches. I love painting” plein air” whenever I can, in all sorts of weathers. My work is loose realistic with subjects ranging from marine/river scenes, landscapes as well as portraits and life.
I have been a member of The Wapping Group of Artists for the past 18 years . I was invited to become a member of The Chelsea Art Society in 2007. Locally I am an exhibiting member at Guildford and an Associate Member at Farnham Art Societies . I have had pictures accepted at the RSMA, RI, ROI and The Pastel Society at The Mall galleries in London .
In 2017 I was one of the founder members of Surrey Hills Plein Air Group and now organise the venues for our weekly visits to various locations the length and breadth of Surrey and sometimes beyond. We now have a 180 members of all abilities with approx. 20 painting every week.
I do demonstrations and workshops mainly with acrylic ink and Soft Pastels to Art Societies in Surrey, Sussex, Kent , Hampshire and South London.
