Robbie has always been passionate about drawing and painting plein air. He started drawing and painting at school then continued whilst studying dentistry at Guys Hospital and whilst travelling during holidays.
After retiring in 2008 he has been able to devote more time to his love of painting and now concentrates on oils rather than watercolours. He has studied portraiture, painting and drawing at the Heatherley School of Fine Art.
His objective is to reveal the beauty and atmosphere of a subject by paying particular attention to the light, tone and composition. He is an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists and has often exhibited at the Mall Galleries.
