Patsy Moore RSMA WGA has painted pretty much all her life; was art educated at Edinburgh University and Art College and has, for many years, devoted her time to painting and also teaching art to individual students, classes, art societies, onboard cruise ships – in fact to anyone who will listen to her waxing lyrical about the subject she loves!
Her heritage is one of Dorset fishermen and architects, which largely shapes her subject preferences and approach to them. Painting in both oils and watercolour, Patsy can often be found painting en plein air in harbour areas and riversides, finding endless inspiration in life on and beside the water.
She is an award winning painter, who has held numerous (happily successful) solo and shared exhibitions and exhibits regularly with the Association of Sussex Artists, and on several occasions with the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and the Royal Society of Marine Artists, of which she is now an Associate Member.
She is a proud member of the prestigious Wapping Group of Artists, who number only ever 25 members, painting regularly along and beside the River Thames, from its mouth to the sea
Her paintings are in collections around the world.
She has organised and run art holidays at home and abroad, sharing with her students the joys (and challenges) of painting in beautiful locations.
In 2019 Patsy was a finalist in the SkyArts Landscape Artist of the Year, a fun and challenging experience coping with time constraints and biblical weather conditions (which do seem to follow her and her easel around wherever she paints!)
